About the Boots

Our
Story continued . . .

The first Bootiful boots were presented to the public on September 13, 2014 in a well-attended "Baring of the Boots" celebration and installed at 32 sponsor locations around town.  The demand for the boots soon spread and by May 2015, 18 more boots were added.  At that point the number of boots was capped.  But given the high interest in 2021 WimberleyArts.org approved of more boots to be added.

WimberleyArts salutes the artists for their unique designs and hugh talent.  We sincerely thank our wonderful sponsor organizations for believing in the vision.  Many volunteers have made this project a huge success and we are proud to be a part of this exciting community.

If your business or non-profit would like to be part of the Bootiful Wimberley Project please contact us at WimberleyArts.org@gmail.com for more information and to be added to the sponsor wait list.

The Bronze Boot

To honor Wimberley's support of arts & culture WimberleyArts.org gifted a bronze boot entitled "Hill Country Soul" to the city on October 3, 2022.  Located at the new Oak Park Welcome Center, the boot is a town landmark and a first stop for tourists.

The gift came about when Dr. Hilda Carpenter and Steven J. Green conceptualized and decided to sponsor the boot.  WimberleyArts.org commissioned Michael Hall, a Driftwood resident with international acclaim as a sculptor, to develop the design for the bronze boot.  Along with his associate, Paul Malachi, they created a boot with amazing detail and patina, representing a worn leather boot.  Dr. Carpenter and Mr. Green say, "It's a dream come true for us and a hearfelt thanks to Wimberley Arts & Cultural Alliance whos support of the arts and culture in this area makes it a unique destination and place to live."
